Just curious how many of you trigger-happy Head-fi'ers are willing to wait for Audio-Technica's 50th anniversary headphones before you buy another Audio-Technica can...

The w2002 were their 40th anniversary product so 50th shouldn't be around til approximately 2012 roughly... I've thought a lot about getting the L3000 but figured, well why not wait until the 50th! It'll probably be awesome!

Who is willing to wait six years for a product when you can get a great one right now?

That's like me saying "nah, I bet the Xbox720 will be even BETTER. I really ought to wait for that."

I'll settle for the 45th anniversary limited edition headphone, and that should keep you going for another five years until the 50th anniversary one comes out.

I am saving up for the Audio Technica 100 Year Commemorative Special Limited Edition Series.

There would be only 100 pairs available, made from the very super duper special part of a Cherry Blossom tree in a very remote place in Japan, blessed with a special traditional chanting by the prime minister of Japan in that time in order to increase dynamic range.

Now I just wish that the company won't stopp business (or merged) after 98 years.

Stupid me voted before reading carefully. I thought you meant the 45th anniversary, for year 2007. So:
-1 yes, +1 no.

P.S.
I see AD2000 or W5000 in my future even if there is no 45th year model.

life is short, we can not just wait and do nothing.

The W2002 was good, but hardly something to write home to gran about. The quality of individual phones in the W-series doesn't seem to be linked to what anniversary it happens to be. If it was we'd all be after 10LTDs and 2002s.
