It's a Bluetooth receiver that  is stereo output,

i connect a pair of earbuds, but i cut the wire to the right earbud (and toss the earbud in the garbage).. I'm guessing since the right earbud circuit is now broken, no power can be drawn by that circuit. Only have left earbud now. Did I just double my battery life?

not counting the power that bluetooth transmission needs

I guess you be using less power by only using one driver but I doubt the difference in power consumption will be noticeable.  Want to save battery? Then don't use bluetooth devices.

Driving a tiny little speaker in an IEM uses very very little power compared to how much it takes to use bluetooth you will definitely not double battery life.
