A good friend of mine who know how into music and audio I am got me a gift certificate to itunes for my birthday. Now I'm not much into the aac/mp3 scene, but it was a thoughtful gift and i'd like to put it to good use.

Does anyone know here if apple will give me a hard time using the gift certificate towards a refurbished ipod shuffle rather then their badly encoded music?

I would guess they'd not allow it, but I really don't do business with apple, so you might as well try it.

You could sell it to someone here who uses itunes and buy a shuffle... just tell your friend they took it and thats it
