I'm eying the Audioquest Dragonfly 1.2 DAC/Headphone Amplifier.
The Gear:
• PC with a FLAC & 320CBR library
• Subsonic Server with my Android phone as the access point
• Denon DP-60L turntable with an Ortofon 2M Red cart
• Behringer MICROPHONO PP400 phono stage (sorry)
• Behringer U-CONTROL UCA202 USB/Audio Interface for PC sound
• NAD L40 Integrated Amp (the McIntosh preamp is in the shop)
• Focal 814v floor speakers
• Sennheiser HD 380 Pro headphones
The Deal:
After my McIntosh amp kicked the bucket, I fell back on cheap Behringer gear which is satisfactory for my vinyl fix but I'm looking at the Dragonfly for two reasons - First that it might improve upon the sound from my PC (replacing the Behringer), but most importantly, I'd like to use it with my Android phone to step up the power and sound quality while accessing content from my Subsonic server and listening via my Sennheisers.
The Tunes:
Classical, ambient, jazz, 20th century avant garde, and Berlin School-inspired minimal works.
Would the Dragonfly offer a significant improvement upon my two listening environments? HUGE thanks for any input!
