be able to drive phones like the AKG K702? I ask because I just purchased a decware zen head and was wandering if this could drive the AKG. Oh, and my set up is ipod classic>AlO Lod>Zen Head>K702??

No! No portable amps with the K702s unless you want to cheat yourself on experiencing the sound that they're known for having, at least by people who like the K702s.

thanks for the reply, but do you or anyone know of some phones that would pair well with my setup? I'm just looking for headphones that will make my ipod lossless collection sounds it's best

yeah of all the cans to underpower those would be a bad choice. really uninvolving and basically crap sounding without enough juice IMO. i'm not a huge fan at any rate, but under powered I would rather chew my own ears off.

grab some more efficient cans. I agree with the purchase of top shelf IEMs.

I'm looking at getting the Denon AHD2000 for some full sized phones and then maybe the head direct reo's as an iem

I heard both the Denon D2000 and RE0 and I think their reputation is overhyped.

Try the HD25-1, very easy to drive and the sound is first class for a portable without an amp.
