Hi, I'm thinking of buying this setup but I'm not sure if D10 will have enough power to drive pro900. If not, which dac/amp would be a better solution?
It don't have to be portable. Desktop is also ok, but generally: smaller, nicer -> better.
Budget: optimal 300$, max 500$

almost all Ultrasone headphones have low impedance. Pro900 probably only has 40 ohm... you don't really need a amp to drive it. I didn't need an amp to drive my Ed9 - it goes pretty loud right out of my iphone lol.
But to improve SQ, I think a good Solid state or hybrid amp will do the job.

volume don´t say much if you need an amp or not. Yes you will get volume but my Pro 900 sound congested and things get kind of funky when I attempt to run it unamped or cheaper amps. An amp that deliver enough current will make it sound way better. However make sure you do the KeeS mod first since it dampens the bass some and bring the mid range forward more and make things much nicer.

I haven´t heard the D10 and don´t know it´s specs but look for high mA numbers in the specs lol
