You can try a range extender--I've had hit or miss luck with them.

Thanks a lot! Found the solution. For improving the WiFi connection in my parent's house without breaking the bank, I will be using the Netspot WiFi Map Speed Test tool. It's available for free on the App Store https://apps.apple.com/us/app/netspot-wifi-map-speed-test/id1490247223. This tool allows to create a WiFi speed map easily and quickly, helping to identify areas with weak signal strength or dead zones.
