I finally managed to get my hands on a pair after a long search and boy do I love these phones...

The sound is so stunningly clear and pristine, not muffled or stuffed up at all... and the midrange is excellent (AKG's forte if you ask me... but.. if you ask me.. I will also claim to be biased towards AKG as I have a K340 and a K601 as well...)

Bass is tight and deeper than my k340 (but then again, my K340 is the bass light version...

)

If I had to compare it with my K340.. I would say that the K340 is more musical while the K240DF is very clear and pristine.... but not dry or in any way stifling to the music

Just wondering why it isn't mentioned more over here at Head-Fi???

. Just how many versions of the 240 are there?! What's different in each version?

Please chime in hear if you can help. Need to find replacement ear pads for the DF...Not just stock ones but "GEL" replacements that fit.
Can anyone kindly suggest...?

I got a pair as part of my experiments with different HP's for studio / mixing-rerferencing work.
Having trouble finding GEL replacements. Maybe the Beyer GEL Pads would fit/work???
