I've been looking for ages and found nothing. I have tested the Bose Sounddock Portable for quite some time and I think it's absolutely incredible. The volume, bass and convenience is great. I can use my laptop, mp3 player, ipod.... and the battery lasts for ages. 
 
Coming to this forum though, it seems people really do not rate Bose. So, is anyone able to find a system which is:
 
1. Loud speakers 
2. Portable size
3. Rechargeable battery
4. AUX input 
 
I find plenty which can do 1,2,4 but not 3... and plenty which can do 3 but are really small and cheap. 
 
Budget is $300-500.

Yes, Tivoli. I haven't heard their portable units, but the desk radios are pretty nice for what they are. It looks like the iPAL Portable Audio Laboratory can be had for $160 on Amazon.

The iPal looks cool - but I'm willing to bet the quality and volume is no where near that of a Bose Sounddock?

Mainly because iPod docks are generally overpriced for the audio performance that they deliver.
