Just curious if anyone has any technical knowledge on why listening to the same song on the same program (tidal) differs depending on whether I'm listening to it on iPhone versus pc. I'm assuming it's just based on the bluetooth card but curious as to why. Listening on Sennheiser Momentum pure wireless IEM.

PC sound is more distant and iPhone I guess I would describe as closer or "intimate". Other than that can't tell much difference.

The only reason I can think of is the bluetooth codec. iPhone uses AAC and your bluetooth card may use aptX or SBC.

Other possibility beyond BT codec could be because streaming service can reduce the rate on different platforms (mobile/desktop). Look in the end of this article and you will see what I'm talking.
