Why aren't more Pink Floyd albums available on SACD/DVD-A?

I'll go along with the redbook version of DSOTM being superior to the hybrid redbook layer on the SACD, but that's where our agreement ends. The SACD is FAR superior to the redbook.

I'm wondering about the lack of Floyd on hi-rez as well. I'm not sure what this means exactly, but they never released on reel-to-reel. Coincidence?? Dunno...

If I'm not wrong "Wish You Were Here" should be now in the works for multichannel treatment and SACD release. "Animals" should come next too, both in year 2005. There wasn't much talk recently, however you can see some details in these two older threads from AA:

Seems like a great year for Pink Floyd fans is coming, isn't it?

Can't wait either. I listen to the redbook formats the most myself.

But I had the opportunity to borrow my buddies turn table and PF records for an entire week. Lets just say I almost ran out and blew 2 grand on a new turn table (mine sucks) so I could have that sound everyday. Pink Floyd on vinyl is unmatched.

Hopefully the SACD (if it's not a master duplication) matches the sound signature and crazy funky detail of the vinyl.

I found the hi-rez format of DSotM only sufficient in the famous clock intro in "Time". Everything else sounded more lively through vinyl, of course. Why have only hi-rez when you can have full-rez on a turntable and lp?

The albums are almost collector's items and are found for very reasonable prices today.
