Why aren't more Americans into soccer (football)?

I think if you could takle the player who has the ball instead of having to attack the ball football would catch on in America. As someone said earlier, it is just two different cultures. Soccer just isn't popular in Canada or America. We have hockey and stock car racing, and that's more then enough for me.

P.S. Why are Europeans so elitist? (New title for the thread.)

-- edit --

I love curling, and I just saw Young Frankenstein last night.

europeans confuse "we're better than you" with "you're different than us".

My brother told me basketball is more fun more entertaining to watch. Sometime in soccer after 90 minutes not even a single score lol

But why do other people in other countries still suffer thought it? Lol

I watch world cup only to see the standings and highlights. Not the whole game.

I have attention span for basketball though. Other sports are too slow.

One reason is the Asian people especially Thai people but a lot of bet into sports so they watch to see if they will win the money. But some do really watch it for entertainment ^^
My brother will only watch basketball no soccer lol

I love “soccer” but it’s pretty damn hard to follow due to the time differences. Gotta wake up early on the weekends and champions league matches usually happen in the afternoon on weekdays. It was easy to follow when I was in college. I’d watch games in class. With a full time job it becomes a chore to catch a game.

It takes a lot of effort to catch the games for Americans who like the sport.

Yess for Thais too . The English premier league always played in the middle of the night. If you watch a match then you have to lose a lot of sleep and be very grumpy at school or work the next day :frowning2:

Florentine football is the ultimate game

football is booring to few goals. Basketball is booring to many goals.
hockey is the perfect intermediate and sometimes go florentine but it´s all staged and not part of the game in the same way.
Stock car is great. Drivers go Florentine all the time feeling protected!
Curling great despite no florentine! Imagine a curling fight on ice it would surpass florentine football
