why are these bad

My roommate has the Tritton AX360 Pros and he loves them. Used only with the Xbox 360 but I know the surround sound helped him out a lot in games like CoD and GoW. I realize that there may be some better headphones out there but please, head-fiers, do not be so quick to spit on any brand that isn't Sennheiser or Grado.

Also, the Astro A40s are definitely held as the top of the line made for gaming headphones in the console community.

No offense, but that doesn't really prove anything as Bose is also held in high regards by many in the mass consumer market.

lol gaming mice. If you have a laser usb mouse typically the limitation is in the sampling rate from your USB.
And even then you have smoothers and scalers in game that give a similar performance from a $5 mouse.

and $10 dollar headphones can be equalized to sound like staxes...

No offense taken. Just to counter, however, professional audiophiles don't use Bose, professional console gamers do use Astros. However, due to the price tag, I'd probably go with the Sennheiser HD555.

that's probably because it has a built in mic. if they were actually better at gaming sounds than the Senn/AT/Beyer brands they would be used for music too.

Continuing non-aggressive discussion - No mic needed as professionals sit right next to each other during tournaments. Nonetheless, the fact that pros use them is probably why regular consumers love them. I've never even heard them myself (I use Turtle Beach's on my console) but I know Senns are popular for gaming too.

Funny how rarely this gets mentioned in gaming mice reviews. I too have reasonably small hands and Razer mice don't fit my hand at all. The G5 ('07) on the other hand is almost perfect ergonomically.

I've never had much luck with a ham sandwich as a mouse, perhaps you'd like to show me where you put the USB?

Ummm... I think it's common understanding that PRO GAMERS use whatever headphones they are sponsored by. More MONEY, so they can make their living playing games. No different than any other professional sport, or spectator activity involving sponsorships.

Yeah I used the G5 for years also, but for some reason, the Microsoft Intellipoint mice were my favorites. Their fit and design just fit into my hands perfectly and when the Habu came, yeah I bought em without even giving it a second thought

yeah i got a razor deathadder also. the reason its better than a $5 mouse is that it is cool looking and has a glowing emblem on it (LOL) and then it has the 2 side thumb buttons which i find useful when playing fps games

the thing has lasted me over 2 years and apart from the emblem not glowing anymore the thing works like a champ

but yeah ive been trying these trittons out for a bit. they are very nice, they are pretty tweakable, but a couple things,

even when my sound isnt turned up really high certain frequencies will cause the audio to crackle, not all of the time just sometimes. i dont think this is a problem with my soundcard as with the other headphones it didnt really do this

personally i dont find 5.1 audio to be any big difference over stereo, idk i mean sometimes when i am playing bf2142 i think sometimes i can locate people slightly quicker and easier from the sound of thier gunshots but really its not some incredible game breaking hearing that your getting with these compared to stereo.

so yeah im probably going to order some 555's and then return the trittons when the 555's show up.

but see at least i now actually know for a fact what some of the headphones are like.
