Why are so many Head-Fiers sensitive about their age?

I dunno why so many people leave the "birthday" column of their profile blank, or just fill in the date (not the year). Sometimes after seeing a particular post, I go check to see if my prediction of their age was correct (based on their post) - but rarely am I rewarded with the information to do so.

For example, I just read a thread, predicted that the author was 13. I check his birthday, just a date

I do have news for you "under 18" people - you don't know everything yet, that only happens when you turn 21 (my age)

It seems that only young people hide their age. I'm 17 though and am not hiding it.

I'm 61 and amaze myself every morning I wake up.

If I'da known I was gonna live this long, I'da took better care of myself.

Of course, Grandkids and a Great-Grandson are fun benefits of gettin old.

sometimes when you modify your profile the date changes by itself. after awhile you get tired of having to change it.

Lazy. I don't think you have to fill in the age to join this forum.

That said, I hide my birthday because I have this belief: if no-one wishes me "happy birthday" on my birthday, then I can skip that year.
