Why are earpads commonly replaceable but not headbands?

It seems very common to be able to replace earpads on headphones because they wear out but it’s rare to see a manufacturer make their headbands replaceable. Don’t headbands also wear out similarly to earpads?

Yeah of the headphones I own, the headbands do wear out but the issue is earpads influence the sound signature of the cans a lot. Unlike headbands. Even though other brand earpads may fit another brand's cans, chances are the sound will change. Whereas headbands won't change the sound, maybe only asthetics and comfort will change.
There's lots of 3rd party headbands I've bought to change my headbands, and they are pretty cheap, but one would probably need to go back to the manufacturer to get a replacement earpad cause of the above.
