My Shure e3 just arrived and I'm sitting here trying to figure out exactly how to deal with the clamshell case it came with.

if its the same as the 2c, just place the canal phones and plug in the center ring and wrap the coil around the spool.

Hi Bunninator,

Don't panic yet! Try put the earpiece in the center leaving a bit of cord just to make sure you don't stress the connection to driver, and just coil the cord around the yo-yo bit, then pu the plug into the center, and zip the case.

Done!

I find it easier to wrap the cord around my hand, and then place the headphones in the case. Takes much less time, too.

didn't someone post once that they took the midle thing out so that they could put less stress on the cable?

Those cases absolutely suck. Really hard to use, really annoying to pack things into. Unfortunately, I haven't come up with a better solution yet. I think someone suggested using a round altoids tin once. I think I'll try that.
