If they had talent they wouldn't be underground, they would have a record deal and a contract.

not necessarily. a record deal doesn't mean talent. i know tons of bands that are really talent but are struggling.

looking at the record industry right now i could see the most talented bands struggling. i barely see any talent on the radio or tv.
and when a band becomes mainstream people usually freak out. and the album reviews go down the drain.

This is far from the truth. Mainstream media isn't based off of talent, it's based off of record studios and corporations choosing which music to play and which music not to play. Also, underground music doesn't mean they don't have a record deal. It just means they're not publicly known. Lil Wayne is mainstream, he doesn't have any talent. Justin Bieber is mainstream, he doesn't have any talent. OJ The Juiceman is mainstream, so is Gucci Mane and Drake and T Pain and the list goes on and on. Not a single one of them has talent. It's because people want to hear ridiculous club bumping beats with auto tuned vocals and lyrics about money, alcohol, drugs, cars and women.

For me the entire RAP genre is out (except I like Ganster's Paradise by Coolio)

I have a 7 year old daughter and wife who constantly listen to Taylor Swift who I have come to despise!
