Hello,

I'm as unfamiliar to headphone amping as a pig in a shirt. I'd really like to hear what you all would recommend from your experience, for my combination. My music is probably 60/40 classical/rock.

The equipment match I have is a Singlepower MPX3 SLAM and a low-impedance Denon AH-D5000. I have several 5687 tubes and a couple 6SN7 tubes that I'll play with, but all my Head-Fi reading seems to lead me down the path towards this combination--matched 6BL7GT's for output (in consideration of the Denon's needs), and maybe a Mullard for the 3rd slot.

What say ya'll? Are there any specific brands you'd suggest for the 6BL7's? Would you suggest a Mullard for input?

Though I am very happy with my 6SN7 Mullard (Power) 6SN7 Sylvania (driver) for my SP MPX3 Slam + Denon 5000 I have not tried 6BL7's so am also interested in what would be recommended here.

I use a brand-mismatched pair of 6bl7 in my supra with my d5000.

I found the 5687's a little shrill for my tastes. I have mullards.
