Don't most sony mp3 players have dsp chips that would make the task much more difficult than more simple mp3 players, but I'm probably wrong.

Rockbock should attempt to port to the sony A1000 A3000 series they use coldfire cpu like the iudio m3,m5,x5 and iriver h120 h320, but then again those players are rare.

rockbox are a community group: they need donations and monetary support before they are to just undertake another goodwill project. sony daps also are not easy to crack: maybe even harder than apple

Most Rockbox development is done for selfish reasons. By unselfish people.

Edit: unselfish people who are experienced kernel-level programmers.
