Does anyone know who manufactures those micro titanium and aluminum speakers that Harman Kardon, JBL and Creative use in their portable speakers? I've been trying for two days to track down a wholesale source of just the speaker components.. but I'm not having any luck.

You mean the Odyssey transducer, or Odyssey Plus transducer, right? Hm, did you try asking... Harman Multimedia?

The Odyssey name doesn't ring a bell... I talkin bout the silver drivers, if they're called Odyssey then yes. But no, I haven't asked Harman. I figured they'd be secretive about it since they use them in many speakers, such as the JBL SoundDock, and the Apple Pro speakers... etc.. I could try I suppose, but I think they'll probably say they can't provide that info...

I believe Harman (or a captive supplier) produces those themselves. I was shown prototypes when visiting Harman some time ago and was lead to believe they were produced internally. They're certainly produced offshore now, but I don't know that any "licensed" versions are available seperately.

Yeah, I'm running into quite a few roadblocks concerning these speakers.. I've contacted Creative, Harman Kardon, Altec Lansing and another company "Juster". Creative says they produce them in their factory in China, as well as Harman.. Altec hasn't gotten back to me.. and that company, Juster, basically the same thing.. I know they're all produced in China/Taiwan, etc.. but I can't seem to find a source to buy the drivers seperately.. I wish I could find a wholesaler or parts specialist that sells them. I have found one company, Hi-Vi, that has their products in a Quebec store.. but they're not quite what I'm looking for..
