MANY THANKS!!!!

Is HiFiMan the best bang for the buck with the HE-400? From all that I read, it seems like these can deliver satisfaction both with you pocket and ears.

Thoughts?

I really liked the HE-400, I sold them just to buy a new amp, would still be using them if I didn't need the extra cash.

A few things, the headband gets uncomfortable after a little while, and the stock cable is really stiff, but you are going to replace that anyway.

And it seems to require mods to get the best sound.

I just bought a pair of velour pads, that was enough for me.

Ultrasone Pro900 may be bang for the buck very high if you want closed, and they can be had for $250ish often.

Great phones with great bass.
