I'm currently running Triple.fi's directly out of the iphone and the sound is FANTASTIC! However, being on the slippery slope that I just embarked upon, I ordered a pair of UE11s.

Does the iphone do the UE-11 justice unamped? Did I just pose a blasphemous question? lol

Portability is a huge concern for me; the main reason why I got the iphone is so that I didn't have to carry around my ipod and cell phone separately!

i think there might be hiss, which you might not like. I dont personally have the UE11, but the sensitivity is high, like my SE530s.

My triple.fi's don't pick up any hiss from the iphone so I hope my UE-11 won't either.

Is it even worth adding an amp to the iphone to drive the ue11s?

I use my iTouch with the UE11s unamped. Sounds very very good. (redundancy on purpose

)

Unfortunately unamped sounds so good that I have not been able to find a better amped solution. I have a desktop amp but it does not sound good with the UE11s. Nothing to do with hiss I think just sounds not as good as unamped.

Re: hiss. Yes there is hiss but as you may know it goes away once the music plays. If hiss is a big deal you get one of those volume attentuators to reduce the hiss. But it is an non-issue to me. Also once the iTouch goes into standby mode the hiss goes away so I am only listening to hiss once I turn off the music for a little while.

Forgot to set camera to 'macro'
16GB iPhone --> Qables Silvercab LOD --> Predator --> UE11s

Yeah the UE-11s sound decent through the headphone jack but it is pure audio bliss when I go through the LOD and then into the Predator

haha, yeah the Predator is an Amp + DAC Combo and you flip a switch on the side to change from Input (using the Amp only) or USB (using Amp + DAC together)
