I was wondering how much better your listening ability became and if it was beneficial in critiquing your equipment and/or source.

Have you done any other training that you thought was superior?

I went through the whole course and it is very helpful. It really give you a good handle on how to hear and differentiate different frequencies.

That said...the best training I did was listening to music at a lower volume while listening for defects that show up on mastering programs. You really have to pay good attention, both aurally and visually.

This looks cool but is prohibitively expensive. Any similar free program?

Wow, this program is great (the Harman one)

Thanks for the reference, after a few weeks of training my ears are gonna be sharp

EDIT: it's just too bad all of the sample songs are really not my type of music.

One follow up question: is there training like this for compression artifacts?

Yes....It's called "Californication" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

A similar program is "Death Magnetic" by Metallica.
