My left CD3000 driver began to do ft-ft-ft-ft-ft (how would you call that in english) with low bass signals.
It occoured to me with the PortaPro as well, twice, and just gently blowing on it fixed the problem - probably some partical of who knows what...

Well, I removed the pads, and open the 3 screws. From here it's glued...
Any advice if I should try to continue and what's a good way to do it?

Thanks
Adam

same thing happened to me. I opened it up to the point where I took the driver off the housing completely. Couldn't fix anything noticeable and just accepted the fact that I was a victim of a cd3k driver failure. Sent it in to Sony and they obviously could not do anything either besides making me buy a replacement for $340 or something since my warranty was out. Ended up selling my dead cd3k's to Larry at headphile for a decent price. Didn't think it was worth the trouble to order replacement drivers.
