Eminem
Vanilla ice
3rd bass
House of pain
Snow
Limp biskit
Bubba sparxxx
paul wall
madonna
gwen stefani
Beastie Boys
Atmosphere
Rage against the Machine
Kid Rock
Insane Clown Posse
Weird Al
Stereo MCs
Young Black Teenagers
Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch

So now I'm posing the question to the members of Head-fi. What white rappers can you think of? This can include people like Madonna, who only did one song or whatever.

Paul Wall is mixed.. There are a lot of excellent white MC's in the underground scene.. Copywrite being one of my fav's..Cage.. High & Mighty etc..

you've missed the first white rappers ever - in 1982, the year that grandmaster flash did 'the message'.

granted, one was really a disco/pop entertainer, the other was a punk (the quintessential punk actually, founding member of 'the damned'). but both rapped for at least one single, and those singles had more success in europe than their black counterparts.

i'm talking about
falco - der kommissar
captain sensible - wot

of course this isn't hip-hop - but it's definitely rap, and there's no whiter shade of pale than the captain's complexion.

(now with tongue firmly in cheek this makes the damned the most influential band ever: first punk single, first white rap & the invention of gothic look & rock)

Eh, well Debbie Harry did Rapture in 1980. It is one of the silliest rap verses ever, but it is rap and she does manage to mention Fab Five Freddy, DJs, Flash, hip-hop, and parties.

ah yes, forgot about blondie... but hip-hop in 1980? i must have missed something. this thread is rather derailed now, isn't it? on the other hand, debbie harry, falco and captain sensible still have more street cred than, say, vanilla ice...

there's also randy newman sometime later, doing a rap parody on 'land of dreams'.
