I love my technics 1600 but the thorens 166 is soooo beautiful. Anyone have thoughts or opinions on the better table? Any insight appreciated!
Which would you choose? Thorens TD-166 or Technics 1600?

Thought the last line in Citizen Kane was nosebud.
Unless you can dig up a SL-M1/2 or SP-10/15/25, the TD166 should be the better table...

Well, if you basically need a rugged and easy-to-use table, it would make more sense to keep the Technics. The Thorens is the better table and offers loads of upgrade potential, but it can also be a finicky beast to set up.
