I purchased both the Sennhesier HD-595 and the Beyer DT770/80s and I only plan on keeping one of them.

The mids and possibly highs sound better on the HD-595s but I really like the closed-headphone style of the DT770/80s.

I'm going to be using these headphones 90% of the time for gaming and maybe 10% of the time for music.

I'm also using an X-Fi XtremeMusic card if that matters...

Which do you think is better? I can't decide!

personally i preffer my dt770 over sennheiser hd-600 for music... i don't game much, but if i did i think i'd prefer closed phones to not disturb others... but, if you gonna play for many hours, i think open headphones are more comfortable since air in them doesn't get too hot.

Both are crap IMO, but in quite different ways.

But in respect of gaming, the DT770 is hardly to be beaten.

If those two choice I would clearly have chosen the DT770.
Closed headphones are imo more usable with gaming, since gamers most often don't play games alone.
