I am getting one of these at Best Buy. I have some RZ certs and one of their store cards. I listen to all types of music, rock, rap, post-hardcore, alternative, jazz, etc.

I've heard both. The Superfi 4 has much better clarity than the metrofi, which sounds bloated & muddy in comparison. Check to see if they have the Altec Lansing Backbeat Pro any less expensive. I believe this is a re-branded superfi 4 that bestbuy often sells for less.

Is the cable on the Super.Fi's as flimsy as some reviews say?

Neither. I would get RE0 for $79.

The cable for my Super.fi's lasted about 8 months. I bought a replacement cable and didn't even work out of the package. Enough said.
