I'm a bit torn on which I should do.

I'd really like to get that FiiO E18 and pair it with my HTC One. On the other hand, I do have a 4th gen iPod ( gray scale ) sitting in my desk drawer. I'd just have to get a new battery. Also the CF card mod. And a clear front panel for good measure.

Which in your opinion would be the better way to go, price not being an issue?

I do like that the E18 can double as a charger. But if I went with the iPod route, I wouldn't have to worry about my phone battery.

Pros? Con's? Thoughts?

Why not just get a Fiio X3 and sell off the iPod?

That would be an option, but this iPod is in kinda rough shape. There is a bunch of chips where the front piece meets the rear. I think the HDD does have a bad spot on it. Not to mention the battery life. Which is why I figured why not just do the fixes.
