Which way round to solder CSD's?

I just got some CSD's for class A biasing, and just realised I'm not sure which way round they go. They are in the 'resistor-like' package, and the diode itself has a two color scheme on it, lighter on 1/3 and darker on 2/3. Help most appreciated!

The light ring is the negative pin (cathode). If you are doing the same bias setup that tangent recommends, this should go to the negative supply.

Yes! some people even call them CCD (Constant Current Diode)

Thanks for your help guys. By the way, CSD is for Central Semiconductor Diode, and is the name they use for these puppies at mouser.com, presumably due to the company that makes the diodes. Anyway, my setup is running without a hitch, so far...

Just a few questions after some listening time. Having used the 1.5ma CRD's to bias into Class A, the bass level has gone crazy. It's almost like I have a subwoofer strapped to my head with 650's. It doesn't sound like anything has gone wrong, it's just that the bass at times is overwhelming. I'm using opa 627's, and I'll take a photo of the design of the amp, because though it's DIY it isn't exactly a pimeta, mint or PPA.

Any thoughts as to why the bass has increase so much?
