I am stuck on choosing between the Swan M12, D1080, or the M200. I have not heard any of them and I don't think I'll be able to find a place where I can. I know theaudioinsider has a 30 day trial but it's an uneeded hassle to send it back so I want to make the best choice initially.

I am going to use these speakers for my computer and my PS3, which means the speaker won't only be used for music but games and blurays too. I like the fact that the M12 has a sub which probably means it has deepers and louder bass than the two for movies/games but I am worried that if the audio quality is compromised too much, that just isn't worth it for music. I heard the D1080 is a bit worse than the M200 so I think between the two I would rather have the M200 even though it does stretch my budget to the limit.

M12 - $99
D1080 - $139
M200 - $189

What would be the best bang? So I am relying on your experiences to help make the best initial decision.

Thanks guys!

The M200's are great speakers for music.. But not that great for games or movies. The M12 would be great bang for the buck unless you are willing to spend more money on a sub (I have the M200's and eventually got the Asub).

Thanks for the responses. Anyone actually hear the M12? I did a search and found plenty of people who have heard the D1080 and the M200 and even the M10 but none who have heard the M12. I can't spend the money now to get a sub for the M200 but maybe later. Subs are expensive though aren't they (or something that would be suitable to match to the M200)?

Depending on your room size and room acoustics, you could just grab a relatively cheap sub that will be $100-$200. $250-$350 if you feel like splurging. In certain situations and rooms, spending over that amount would be overkill (but people often do it).

I paired my D1080MKII with a Energy ESW8 for... I think it was $120 shipped give or take $10. Works great together in a small room or a room with good acoustics for the bass (like tiled floors or something).

I see that you have both the D1080MKII and the M200MKII and you added a sub with only the D1080? Do you like the D1080 better than the M200?

Ohhh... no. I gave my mom the M200 and use the D1080MKII on my LAN setup when I game with friends. For my main setup, I have a few other speakers I use.
