I've been using a clip+ for some years now and want something new but with about the same characteristics. I'm looking at the walkman players because they can be bought for cheap and seem to be pretty good but there are so many i dont know which to choose. I want physical buttons, so the touchscreen players are a no go. Card slot isn't required but would be nice. I was looking at the S series or A series (new or old?)

Get the new one (A15/16/17). Great price for value IMO. I think it's the best dap out there and supersedes all, unless you have power hungry iems/headphones.
If not this is the one to go for!

That's still a bit expensive for a simple mp3 player. What about the F series and X? And what's the best non touchscreen next to the new A series?
The new e385 and e585 seem good but are pretty expensive and have that damn proprietary cable.
