Which portable has the best playlists? I don't use them but want to start. So which player has the best playlist functionality. What functionality is a must have?

Any player that runs RockBox.
I can't think of a playlist function that it doesn't have.
You can create playlist on the fly. Save them, delete them, modify them, view the current playlist, move around the current playlist....
Modify = add next, add last, add shuffled, move tracks, remove tracks, reshuffle .....

"Best" depends on the user.
But I find the iPod's to have great playlist navigation.
