Can anyone compile a list of the Top 5 portable cd players with the Best Sound Quality?

i've heard that some CD Players from back then Completely surpassed current MP3 Players of today....even the clip+, s9, x1060, imod ccouldnt compare ...is this true?

Clip+ can't compare to Sony/Cowon's MP3 players already.

But from what I understand, yes, this is true.
