No one famous on my birthday. The closest is the drummer for Earth, Wind, and Fire.

On my wife's birthday however - Aaron Neville, Neil Diamond, Ray Stevens, Warren Zevon, and John Belushi

1962, Born on this day, Cliff Burton, bass player with Metallica. Burton was killed on September 27th 1987, when the band’s tour bus crashed as it was traveling between Stockholm and Copenhagen. He was found crushed to death under the bus.

Wow. My birthday apparently rocks a lot more than I do. I mean, Louis Armstrong, Klaus Shulze, AND the Hot 100 chart? So how come I can't carry a tune?

1947, Born on this day, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, German instrumental group, (1974 UK No.15 album 'Phaedra').

1958, Billboard introduced 'The Hot 100 Singles Chart', Ricky Nelson was at No.1 with 'Poor Little Fool'.

June 17th - Mexican singer Paulina Rubio (1971), Canadian punk-rocker Bif Naked (1971), Hanoi Rocks singer Michael Monroe (1960), Dead Kennedy's singer Jello Biafra (1958), Barry Manilow (1943), Russian composer Igor Stravinsky (1882), Dean Martin, Cliff Gallup (guitarist), Chris Spedding (session guitarist), Glenn Buxton (guitarist/Alice Cooper), Greg Rolie (Santana), Paul Young (singer), Philip Chevron (guitarist/The Pogues), Richard Hynd (drums), Kevin Thornton (Color Me Bad), Ricardo Rikrot (singer) Lee Ryan (singer)...Paul McCartney was born the next day, but I guess that doesn't count!

Nothing much of interest to me on mine, but I did like these

1982, B.B. King donated his entire record collection of over 20,000 discs to Mississippi University's centre for the Study of Southern Culture,

1992, Billy Idol pleaded guilty to assault and battery charges after an incident outside a West Hollywood restaurant. He was fined $2,700 (£1,588) and ordered to appear in a series of anti-drug commercials.
