Hey,

I have a NuForce Icon desktop amp and NuForce S-1 speakers and want to use my Pro-ject turntable with the Icon while I don't have a full size system.

What phono box would go well with the Icon? Or is it more important to match the phono stage to the turntable than the amp?

Cheers

I assume that you are using a conventional moving magnet cartrige on an entry level turntable, in such a setup the phono stage is not a key component, you can get away with something rather cheap, the TCC 750/760, the Cambridge 640P, Nad PP2, anything from the Project line...usually it is important to match the phono stage to the cartridge used, but this is particularly true for high end low output moving coils which need correct loading, step up transformers, or low noise high gain phono stages...

I hate to plug my stuff here, but I've got a TCC 750 up for sale. Maybe we can work something out? It's a great little preamp, and is perfect condition. The only reason I'm selling it is because I would like to upgrade.
