all of these i have been wanting the longest. i just cant decide on what to get. i mean i like that the gimini 400 plays videos but i cant figure out why id need that. i wouldnt use it much but it would still be used. the iriver h10 is so cool, very tiny, enough memory, colour screen, good sound quality, heck i just like this period. the gigabeat seems too fancy for me really. i dont to draw too much attention to myself. although its pretty cool but with the work i do i dont think i can tolerate its large size. the zen sleek would be my last resort if things go wrong.

The Gmini also does audio and video, and it's video support is MUCH better. A full 30fps vs. the X5's 15fps, and at a higher resolution.

I don't have a picture, but they're both roughly the same size, which is to say-- about the same size as the current 20Gb iPod. You can try out the Gmini400 at Future Shop.. but I don't know anywhere with an X5 out on display.

Cowon is hard to find in canada i think. i tried the gimini in futureshop a while ago so my memory of holding is very vague. so i guess my hopes are either the gimini or H10

So far so good with my G400. A HUGE Development that will soon be released is an emulator for the Gamegear/Master Game system. We have a community over at gmini400.com so if you've got anymore questions, hop on over there.

does anyone know what the differences are between the 400 and the 402?

Edit: i cant believe i left this one out: Iriver H320 20 gig.

this can also play videos. i know iriver is famous for their sound quality, and this has line-out too which ill be using.

scratch that, i will be getting an mp3 player for christmas anyways (so my mother says), so maybe i can finally get a new console? i havent had a console since the nintendo 64 was chucked by my dad.

The H320 also only does 15fps, and doesn't support as many formats as the Gmini400. The H320 does sound good, although somewhat.. synthetic. Nice to listen to casually, though, however.

The difference between the 400 and 402 is that the 400 uses a built-in CF slot with an adapter for other memory cards, while the 402 is USB host.

If you're ordering, eCost is the place for us Canadians because of their border-free policy. No duties, brokerage fees, etc... eCost carries the X5 20Gb for 249USD and the Gmini400 for 319USD. The X5L is 309USD.
