So far I am thinking the Chaintech. Because of the price. I am hopeing not to splurge too much and I think I am going to upgrade in the near future anyway. Especially if I am going for thr chaintech. I only have these five up becuase it is the best from the selection I have under the $150 price range. I am hopeing to keep the price low. These are to go with my brand new Edifier S2.1D that I am getting. I have a A8N SLI and hopeing to upgrade from the onbaord because I am selling my 2 ZS. Also the s2.1ds have S/PDIF digital I believe and my A8N has that so I am hopeing for a sound card that has that too. What should I get?
All prices CAD and from NCIX where I am getting my stuff from.

CHAINTECH AV-710 PCI $33.03
M-AUDIO REVOLUTION 5.1 PCI $86.31
M-AUDIO REVOLUTION 7.1 PCI $110.51
M-AUDIO TRANSIT EXTERNAL USB $137.27
TURTLE BEACH RIVIERA 5.1 $36.84

What would be the best. Personally I think that for music 2.1 is good but for movies, some TV shows and games 7.1 is nice and I might go there in the future. The last set up was a 2 ZS and some x-530s.

The AV-710 with its optical out would be fine for now. For good-quality multichannel experience in the future, I'd go for the Revo 5.1. The Revo 7.1 isn't all that great sonically, a Prodigy 7.1LT should be better. Options that can safely be dismissed are the Transit (you don't want USB sound when you can have a PCI card) and the Riviera (CMedia based overpriced POS).

I agree with that one. The AV-710 is very decent at an impressive price.

I already put in my order with the Chaintech. In the future I will go for a more higher end sound card then a $33 one but if it is good for the price who cares.

Well....

For now at least.

I don't acutally know anything about its quality, but the M-Audio Transit an be had for a lot less than $137. Amazon.com has it for $69.99 plus shipping, and someone is selling one in the For Sale forum for $60 shipped.
