I had a pair of Shure E2c's for about three years. Then the cord finally got screwed up. So I was looking to replace them with either the UM1's, ER6i's, ER-4P, or SF5P's. I know there is a big difference between the former and latter two but I was just wondering if it would be worth it. I mainly listen to hip-hop, electronica, alternative and metal. If you think something else would suit me better please let me know.

Thanks!

I like my SF5EBs from a Zune 30.

Isn't that great? You give a nice list of 4 and no one picks from the list.

I have UM1s and I have had ER-6is and I can say that the UM1s are by far better imo. More bass and has a warmer sound, as the ER-6is have a colder sound. There is bass present but it is very precise and isn't 'boomy'. The cord on the UM1 is a lot better also and has little to no microphonics where as the cords microphonics on the Etys was just unbearable to me. I can't say much out of the others, but UM1 imo is far better than the ER-6i.
