Which MP3 player is the best for audiophiles?

I think its the nomad jukebox 3. wave + lineout + amp + 2 batteries + 98db

I'd say Nomad Jukebox 3 is about the same as Karma, if you use the line-out on the Karma's dock.
Other than that NJBR 3 is like the only mp3 jukebox with a true built in line-out.

Only flaw with karma I can think of is it's not MAC compatible

And the 'knock them hard' to fix HDD issue.

Just use ethernet, and upgrade the firmware at a friend's house.
About the HDD issue... there's also the 'shake it rapidly' fix.

I've never had to use either, though.

There are some places where we could not use ethernet and I am in this kinda places often

Ex: I am on campus, saw there are some good songs stored on the server, if I use the ethernet, the whole row will lost its connection

this is basically another "which player sounds the best" thread

IMO, NJB3 or iPod

I'd have to strongly disagree about the Karma, I've personally A/B tested it, and I invite anyone over to my house to see for themselves

MD players are simliar to mp3 player... ive always put md in the mp3 section.
