The 700 seems to be a little better. I think you should just go for the 700 because after a while with the 500 you'll wonder what the 700 sounds like.

There are sellers (in Japan) on EBay that sells the JVC headphones
and will ship to Europe.

JVC sells two different packaging for the headphones.
JVC also sells the same headphones under the name "Victor".
There is JVC "HA"-RX700, which is sold more in the USA
Then there is the Victor "HP"-RX700,
the "HP" comes with an extra 1.5 meter extension cord.

There is a seller currently on EBay called "Japan Export" that sells the Victor (JVC) HP-RX700s and HP-RX900s.
Might be other sellers too.
