I'm curious and i want the best out of my set up. I have a Sound Blaster x with an aux out. I recently found a aux to jack adapter and i wanted to try out the fidelity difference. But i'm wondering, is aux out to headphones better then headphone output to headphones?

The headphone output port contains an amplifier circuit in the output, to give your headphones more power to drive them. If you're using an external amplifier I would suggest using the auxiliary output (to avoid double amplifying and making the signal quality a tiny bit worse), but otherwise using the built-in amplifier is probably a good idea.
