My dad is wanting whatever Bose IEMs exist for Christmas. Given Bose' reputation for over-priced under-performing products, what am I looking at for better alternatives?

I've had a pair of Shure E4Cs for a few years which I like very much, would a pair of E2Cs or whatever else they have in the $99 price range be comparable to the Bose offering? Otherwise I see that Ety ER6s have fallen to well below $100 in price which seem like a good option. I know nothing about the other IEM brands so if there is a great product in this range I'd be interested to learn about it.

$99 for D-Jays from Headroom. Very good for the money. IF you can stretch the budget, I think Costco.com still has the SF5Pro for $130ish shipped.

Can't go wrong with im716 @ j&r right now for $50. Save some cash so you can buy something for yourself
