My father asked me to buy him some sealed cans for the bus.
I'm a newbie in this domain so I don't know headphones brands except Audio technica, sennheiser, beats and skullcandy ^^ 
His budget is around 100 bucks and he mostly listen to jazz and rock (Radiohead, Nirvana, Depeche mode, ....)
 
I think he is a basshead though. ^^

Basshead cans won't work with jazz.  The Sony MDR-ZX700 is a good commute can.  Also look into the KRK KNS-6400.
