So far i've tried 2 headphones with mine.. k501 and k701

To be honest, i prefer the k501 for about 90% of my music

So.. anything else i should try? I feel bad hooking up a headphone 1/9 its price (..that's not weird at all)

I'm guessing HD580/600 should be some since they're ray's favourites.. How about DT880? Anything else?

I listen to: 60% jazz, 20% acoustic pop, 10% rock, the other 10% is made of just about everything else

I'd give an HD-650 a go if I were you.

I think Ray’s general reference is the Senn 600. That might be worth a try. Mr. Samuels has a great set of ears.

Hi man, i also used a Raptor with the K701, but it needs a tube like Amperex1 2au7, to work well.
Original tube work well with Grado.

Thank you 4 the welcome, i'm very enjoyed.
My setup exclusive for the K701 is:

1x12au7 Amperex
2x5687 Raytheon

I also try other tube, but for the K701 this is the most right.

HD650 sounded alright with stock tubes. It was way too dark & warm with Mullard 12AU7 + Tungsol 5687. But this tube combination sounded fantastic with my W5000.

I prefer to use my W5000 with the Lebencs300x.
Actually i use my HD650/Raptor (with Blue Dragon cable) with a Mazda 12au7.
This tube offered the best control on the bass that i have never listened with the SennheiserHD650, the high is defined but clear.
