I didn't know that Shure was a gateway but maybe that is what lead to my downfall too.

My AKG K701s are my first to get me into this hobby.

However, it was one fateful day looking through the Best Buy website to find some headphones that started it all. I did more googling and bam I find head-fi.org. The rest is history...

I'm being started off now, by discovering how easy it is to make beats and loops in Garageband... but I can't hear what I'm doing through my crappy earbuds. Sennheiser HD280s arriving in the mail next week, chosen in part for isolation, cause I'm going to wear those monsters on the bus too.

SR80's, because I was dumb enough to use the internet to search for the best sub $100 headphones. If I would have just gone to Walmart or Bestbuy I probably would never have dumped ~600 into this hobby

I Googled Skullcandy Proletariats (sp?) because they were half off Circuit City and stumbled upon this site bashing skullcandy and I'm here $400-$500 later.

Just thought I'd share how I came here.

Bah is took some time to figure out amongst all the junk I didn't really care about... think where sound and discussions about headphones and speakers really grew on me was with some outdated closed of the DJ line from Sennheisers I wore up taking them everywhere.

I got started when my brother got into headphones. I thought he was crazy so he made me A-B his Grado SR125 and some crap pair. I heard a difference and I was hook. Shortly later, I got a pair of SR80 used from here. My sound has come a long way =]
