I'm currently using Baby O with the matching HEV-70 amp. I just picked up a 300SEI and looking for something below $500 that will give the Baby O combo a run for its money. Any suggestions? K701? DT880? I'm into jazz and vocal. My sonic preferences are musical, nice midrange, extended and grain free highs. Not a bass freak. Thanks!

hd600 and hd650 are supposedly very nice with the cary

hd600 are the only fones u should use w that amp, r10 meshes well too w it but thats a bit extreme

Why 600 is a better match than 650 for my amp? Would you recommend K701 because I've heard good things about its female vocal quality? The Cary amp excels in the female vocal area as well.

650 is has too strong of a signature and it gets in the way. the bass is bloated as well and the cary has really strong bass output so that would cause a headache.

701 and the cary amp are polar opposites, it would sound ****ed up. i don't much like the 701 to begin with, but the 501 is very good.

I thought 701 sounds very neutral and doesn't get in the way so I can listen more to the classic 300B sound that I want?
