Which headphone is to YOU the most "balanced" sound signature wise?

At moment my AKG K240 DF, for me my Pioneer Monitor 10 sounds more neutral but because of the lack of bass it misses the mark. My JVC HA DX3 sounds balanced too but I need to be sure, so I need more listening hours.

I'm the only one who thinks HD600 ruins cymbal timbre then?

I'd sooner say the K701 are neutral before the HD600. I also think the ER4S is quite neutral.

The bass impact in both needs a bit of work, though

Uncle Erik;6605262The Quad ESL-63s are also very well balanced[/QUOTE said:
Good to know, they're on my wish list

Dt990Pro a bit too bass heavy, grados too thin, HD650 sound great but a bit on the warm side, the AD900 has got to be the most balanced out of the ones i've tried.

I think the same and it applies to both HD6xx.

For me, most higher end AKG headphones or most MB Quart headphones seem pretty balanced. I would say the best I've tried would be either the K701, K1000, K501, QP250 or QP220 depending on what tastes you have. The Denon D2000 is probably the most fun headphone I've tried but I wouldn't consider it balanced.

I think my recabled K701s are pretty balanced, to my ears. True, the Pro 750s have killer bass, and wicked detail, but the K701s sound more natural, I think, and probably closer to the actual recording, regardless of my thoughts concerning the bass response

HD600. When it comes to balance and natural sound I rate it very high.

How does the HD600 ruin cymbal timbre? Just curious. To me, cymbals can be sometimes the most annoying thing in the world. I can't stand them sometimes on the AKG 701, Beyer DT-880 32ohm and Grado 325i. The HD-600 makes them a little less annoying to my ears, and maybe that's what you mean. Not a lot, just a little. I'd like to find out any weaknesses of the HD-600, but it's been difficult.

BTW the most balanced is the HD-600 and Shure SRH-840 to me. The HD-600 even more so. For an IEM the Triple Fi 10 would get my vote.

As far as no frequency trying to top the other, or make themselves known, I'd go with the DT48. The spectrum is very even.. Even the bass is neutral, & perfectly blends in with the music.. K1000/HD600 are also good candidates.

I will go with the PK2...

the most balanced sounding earbud I have ever heard.
anyway, returning to full size headphones,I guess the most balanced sounding headphone I have right now is the HD650 (also scientificaly) .
pataburd, the D5000 are also well balanced to my ears except for some maybe just a little bit too much mid bass. but they always sounded on the spot for me with certain recordings. this is all through my headroom ultra micro stack.

I will have to throw the LA7000 in the mix. It is very balanced across the spectrum including nice tight bass. Dosent balanced mean it has pretty much an equal amount of treble, mids, and bass?

That's how I interpreted, and responded, to the OP's querry: not too much or too little across the frequency spectrum.

BTW, I would like to audition the D7000 and, of course, the LA7000, after I get a job! : )
