First of all, hi guys. I have been a long time reader here, first time poster.

I will be running an iPod Video Gen 5.5 through it via the line out, and my current IEMs are Phonak Audeo PFEs.

I have noticed the Fiio amps, which are nice and cheap. But I've also been looking at some CMOYs on eBay.

I want portability and decent sound quality without spending a fortune. Please advise! Thank you.

Fiio's are as basic as it gets, essentially a loudness button. They make things go louder, or give a bit of bass boost, but that doesn't neccesairly mean for the better, and portables go loud enough as it is.

If better SQ is what you're after, consider different phones.

I'm looking for better sound quality (I want to use the line out, rather than currently being stuck with the headphone jack).

As for phones, I love the detail of the Audeo's, and I also have a pair of AKG K701s for at-home listening.

I was looking at the iBasso T4, also. That is about the upper end of my budget. I want a 'warmer' amp, not a 'bright' one.
