Hi,

Which firewire soundcard without external alimentation would you recommend?

I want to plug my laptop on the Aux output of my regular ampli (Cambridge 640Av2), to listen to (stereo) music.
I also would like to plug my (32 Ohms) headphones on it.

I am looking for firewire (neither usb, nor pcmcia).

Thanks,

David

Thanks.
Do you have any personal experience with these?
That's what I am looking for: is this card any good? or not? and why?

RME FireFace series could be another good candidate for firewire sound card. (I love them because it work with Mac.) They have excellent driver support, and there is nothing to complain except the ugly GUI.

If you only use iTunes to listen to music, you might consider airport express. It is a very good transport and work with any standalong DAC.
